Information You Send Directly
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search box goes to the outside provider that operates that result tool. Richfield Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those searches on its own servers. If you contact us, we use the contents of your message to reply.
Routine Technical Data
Our host may create ordinary server logs, including IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps. We use aggregated technical information to maintain the service, troubleshoot errors, and understand page performance. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement where applicable.
What We Do With This Data
We use this limited information to operate and protect the service, fix problems, measure traffic, and improve pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who May Process Data
Providers that host and support the service may process server logs for us. Analytics or advertising partners can receive the automatic information described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires it or when disclosure is needed to protect the service or another person.
Security and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and technical records are retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above. There are no user accounts, passwords, or resident profiles stored here. No online system can guarantee absolute security.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Minnesota Privacy Rights
Minnesota’s Consumer Data Privacy Act, Minn. Stat. ch. 325M, took effect July 31, 2025 and can provide access, correction, deletion, and appeal rights for covered controllers. It is distinct from a request for public government data. We keep little visitor information, but you may use the Contact page to ask about what we hold. Requests for Richfield, Hennepin County, or state records must go to the custodian under the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act.
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy when service practices or applicable law changes. The posted version is the current one, and continued use after an update means acceptance of the revision.
